Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
MBSR is empirically validated as an extremely powerful and healing form of meditation that brings an affectionate, openhearted, interested attention to the body and the thoughts and emotions of the mind.
Following a daily practice of being fully awake from one moment to the next without judging thoughts has helped people cope with stress, manage pain, and the challenges of daily life. Further evidence validates that people are able to
regulate disturbing events with grace and ease and experience moment-to-moment with full presence and aliveness.
While MBSR is not a replacement for serious medical treatment, as an adjunct to therapy or medical care a mindfulness practice can have a significant therapeutic effect for those experiencing anxiety, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, heart conditions, high blood pressure, migraines, stress, and other ailments. Additionally, eager students typically reveal feeling more attuned with themselves and others.
